Motorola releases in China its MT870, the world’s first dual-core TD-SCDMA 3G smartphone. Made for China Mobile’s TD-SCDMA 3G network, the 4-inch device runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS and comes pre-loaded with the Mobile Market-SHOP4APPS application store offering huge range of applications and services designed especially for Chinese people and an easy shopping experience.
The Motorola MT870 is boosted by a dual-core 1GHz processor. It features a 4-inch qHD 960×540 touchscreen, a 8 Megapixel camera with built-in LED flash, GPS/A-GPS support as well as DLNA, WiFi and HDMI. The phone comes pre-loaded with multi-media Sticky Notes, business card and text scanning, and other business applications, and supports China Mobile’s services including Fetion, TeleNav, 139 Mail, CMMB, etc. It also comes with new Quickoffice suite. EAFT Technologies from India introduces its MagicTile Marathon Android tablet. The 10.1-inch device is powered by 1GHz Tegra 2 processor with 512MB of memory. It runs Android 2.2. The Marathone comes with a 10.1-inch capacitive touchscreen with 1024×600 resolution and a 1.3 Megapixel camera. The MagicTile Marathon has a microSD card slot and comes with a 16GB card. It supports not only WiFi 802.11b/g but also 3G data connectivity. You can find built-in speakers and microphone, USB port, 3.5mm jack and HDMI output. The sleek and stylish device supports CDMA EVDO 3G data network. It features a large 4.1-inch touchscreen, a 5 Megapixel auto focus camera with flash, a front-facing camera for video chat and HDMI output for you to watch media content on HDTV.

Epiphany Acoustics introduces a new headphone amplifier, the high-power EHP-1 “perfect for driving the latest range of orthodynamic headphones, as well as mid to high end conventional dynamic headphones”. The Class A, dual-mono headphone amp is equipped with highly optimised National Semiconductor op amps, a high power MOSFET output stage and a linear regulated low noise, high voltage power supply; delivering up to 3W into 32Ohms and up to 2W into 50Ohms.
The EHP-1 has ultra low total harmonic distortion and noise. It has one line out for signal pass through capability, a variable output for the device to act as a high quality pre-amplifier, and a stereo RCA input. The amplifier can be used in both 230V and 120V regions by a switch on the rear of the unit. The Epiphany Acoustics EHP-1 is priced at GBP180. Premium components used in the EHP-1.
