Nokia announced the new 603 Symbian Belle smartphone with a compact design that comes in six colors, black, white, fuchsia, green, yellow and blue. The new phone comes with a 3.5-inch ClearBlack touchscreen with IPS panel for improved contrast and viewing angle, a 5 Megapixel camera with 720p HD video recording and 2GB internal memory.

The Nokia 603 supports Bluetooth 3.0 and WiFi connectivity and has integrtaed GPS/A-GPS receiver for navigation with Nokia Maps. The phone supports NFC allowing users to get content, share content and even pair with accessories easily. The 603 supports microSD/SDHC memory card. It works on quad-band GSM/EDGE and tri-band UMTS/HSPA networks.

Nokia 603 will be released in Q4 for about Euro 200.

Virgin Mobile adds to the LG Optimus Slider to its Android lineup. The new phone has a full QWERTY keyboard for easy text input, a 3.2-inch touchscreen and a 3.2 Megapixel camera. The Optimus Slider supports Bluetooth 3.0 and has microSD card slot.

The LG Optimus Slider comes preloaded with Virgin Mobile Live 2.0 social networking lifestyle application used to access the Virgin Mobile branded music stream, hosted by DJ Abbey Braden. It will be available for $199.99.
