RunCore rSSD Solid State Drive for Embedded Applications Posted: 31 Oct 2011 12:09 AM PDT RunCore launches the rSSD, the world’s smallest single-chip Solid State Drive with standard SATA or PATA interface in BGA form factor. It allows for easy integration of embedded storage into industrial and commercial devices and applications, and comes in 4GB, 8GB, 16GB, 32GB and 64GB capacities. The rSSD can serve both commercial-grade (0 to 70-degree Celsius) and industrial-grade (-40 to 85-degree Celsius) temperature support. It supports ECC, TRIM command, GC command, S.M.R.A.T. command and SSD LifeGuard technologies which provide real-time SSD monitoring and warning capabilities. In a single BGA pakage measuring 14mm x 18mm, RunCore’s rSSD has a fully integrated SATA or PATA interface. 32GB or below models will use SLC Flash while the 64GB model is based on MLC memory. TRENDnet announced its new TEW-680MB, the first to market 450Mbps dual-band wireless NHD media bridge. The new device is design to deliver highest wireless connection speeds available for up to four media center devices such as media players, gaming consoles, Internet televisions, and NVRs. It needs to be connected to a 450Mbps router, such as TRENDnet's TEW-692GR, in order to maintain 450Mbps wireless speeds. The TEW-680MB, with dual-band support, can connect over the common 2.4 GHz wireless network or over the low interference 5 GHz network. It has an WPS (WiFi Protected Setup) buttons so ut can connect to a router easily at the touch of a button. The media bridge provides four Gigabit Ethernet ports for connecting media devices. T-Mobile announced the LG DoublePlay, an Android smartphone with a special design featuring a split QWERTY keyboard and two capacitive touchscreens. The new phone comes with a 3.5-inch main display and a 2-inch seconday display that sits in between the QWERTY keyboard. It runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS. The LG DoublePlay is powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm SnapDragon processor. It features a 5 Megapixel camera with LED flash and 720p HD video recording capability. The phone comes pre-loaded with Swype for easy text input using touchscreen, as well Cloud Text and Group Text giving users the ability to send and receive texts from a PC or tablet or create group chats on-the-go for faster, more efficient content sharing.
