Lantronix xPrintServer brings Wireless Printing to iOS Devices Posted: 14 Dec 2011 04:24 AM PST While Apple’s iOS devices support AirPrint, not all networked printers have wireless capability. A company called Lantronix introduces the xPrintServer, a wireless printing solution that allows iOS device printing for businesses and consumers with networked printer. Setup is easy, simply plug the xPrintServer anywhere into network and your printer is ready to print from iOS devices.
The xPrintServer supports more than 4,000 printers from leading printer families including HP, Brother, Epson, Canon, Dell, Lexmark, and Xerox. The little box works with iPhone, iPod touch, iPad/iPad 2. It has only one Ethernet RJ45 port, meaning each box can connect to one printer. The Lantronix xPrintServer will be released in January 2012 and costs $149.95.

The LUMIX FX90 is a 12.1 Megapixel camera with a 24mm wide angle LEICA DC VARIO-SUMMARIT lens with 5x optical zoom and F2.5. Hitachi Ultrastar C10K900 2.5-inch 10K Enterprise Hard Drive Posted: 14 Dec 2011 01:32 AM PST Hitachi is now shipping its new Ultrastar C10K900 family enterprise hard drive, wich is the highest performance, most power efficient 10K HDD for tier 1 enterprise networked storage arrays, blades and other rack-mounted servers, according to the company. The new 2.5-inch drives run at 10,000RPM and feature SAS 6Gbps interface for reliable data throughput. They have 64MB cache memory for optimized read/write response time. The Ultrastar C10K900 is available in 300GB, 450GB, 600GB and 900GB capacities. The new enterprise drives feature Hitachi’s Advanced Power Management technology, delivering a random read/write operating power specification of 5.8 watts and idle mode of 3.0 watts. The Ultrastar C10K900 family also includes a Bulk Data Encryption option for hard drive-level data security.

eMatic launches three new MP3 players, the eSportsClip, Prism-e8 and JR-e6, all come in dynamic life-style colors. All three models come with 5 Megapixel digital camera with LED flash for users to take photos and capture video. They all support playback of MP3, WAV, WMA audio formats as wel as MP4, AVI, FLC video and JPG, PNG, GIF, BMP, TIFF images. You can also find FM radio.
The eSportsClip is designed for use at work, play or at the gym, featuring built-in clip for hands-free operation. It has a 1.8-inch QVGA color display with 128×160 resolution, and 4GB internal storage. The Prism-e8 and JR-e6 both have a 3-inch QVGA 320×240 display with touchscreen and add FM recording function and webcam capability. The e8 is available in 4GB and 8GB capacities. It comes with integrated USB connector, eliminating the need for cable. The e6, on the other hand, has a durable aluminum body. It has 8GB storage. Leica launches a new compact long zoom digital camera, the V-LUX 3 that is basically a re-badged Panasonic LUMIX FZ150, succeeding the V-LUX 2. Featuring a 12.1 Megapixel CMOS image sensor, the new camera does Full HD 1920×1080/60p video recording in AVCHD format. It is equipped with a Leica DC Vario-Elmarit 4.5 – 108 mm f/2.8 – 5.2 ASPH. 24-fold super-telephoto zoom lens with 24x optical zoom (25–600 mm in 35 mm format). The V-LUX 3 features high-speed burst-shooting capability of up to 12fps at full resolution or 60fps at 3.5 Megapixel resolution. The camera offers Face detection, P/A/S/M modes, ISO up to 3200, and 1cm macro. It provides Mini HDMI output and uses SD/SDHC/SDXC memory cards. It comes with a comprehensive software package, including Adobe Photoshop Elements and Adobe Premiere Elements. Coming in January 2012, with the Leica logo you won’t expect a low price.
