Based on the Rugged and designed by Neil Poulton, the new Mini version is 40 percent smaller. It is shock-, drop-, and rain-resistant and can withstand one ton of pressure, sllowing users to easily transport the drive on the go while being confident their files are safe and secure. The Rugged Mini also has a scratch-resistant aluminm casing and comes with the LaCie Private-Public software. The drive uses USB 3.0 interface and is backward compatible with USB 2.0. It is available in 500GB, 500GB (7200RPM) and 1TB capacities. The price starts at $95. Canon VB-M700F 1.3 Megapixel Fixed IP Camera Posted: 20 Jul 2011 12:18 AM PDT   Canon announced a new 1.3 Megapixel fixed IP camera, the VB-M700F that “integrates advanced on-board technologies developed to address the unique needs of both security-monitoring professionals and camera-installers alike”. The camera packs a 1.3 Megapixel CMOS sensor, a Genuine Canon 3x Optical zoom lens with a focal length of 2.8 to 8.4mm and 102.5 degree wide-angle of view, and Canon DIGIC NET image processor to capture potentially crucial image detail in low-illumination environments down to 0.018 lux at f/1.2 and 1/8 sec. in color and 0.001 lux at f/1.2 and 1/8 sec. in black and white. Applications for the camera include transportation centers, banks and ATM rooms, schools, retail stores, gaming establishments and many other IP security-video environments.   The Canon VB-M700F features built-in video analytics and conformance to the ONVIF (Open Network Video Interface Forum) interoperability standard. It uses H.264 codec to offer high-quality video and high compression rates, and allows simultaneous transmission of H.264 and Motion-JPEG in resolutions of 1280 x 960, 640 x 480, and 320 x 240. The camera has SD/SDHC card that allows still images to be saved to an SD/SDHC memory card during network outages. There are built-in Admin Tools and support for SSL (HTTPS) is included for secure data communication between the camera and monitoring PCs. The camera also comes with a built-in motor that allows for adjusting the zoom and focus positions after installation, using dedicated PC software.
