| What On Earth Is A Super-Earth? (Video) Posted: 13 Sep 2011 09:47 AM PDT For starters, it’s not found on Earth but in a far away system orbiting a star. See, the Super-Earth is a category of rocky planet within a ‘habitable zone’ where proximity determines whether water deposits may or may not exist. A super-earth is also much larger than our Earth (hence ‘super’), having heftier mass as a result. Not surprising, since water is oh so essential to supporting life. The picture down south? Not a Super-Earth. In case you didn't recognize it that’s Reach from the Halo universe before the Covenant laid waste to it. A stand in if you will.

| Nintendo Launches Misty Pink 3DS Console Posted: 13 Sep 2011 07:53 AM PDT With an aim to attract more female gamers into purchasing their new 3DS console, Nintendo have today unveiled plans to launch a new Misty Pink 3DS following similar finishes used on their other gaming consoles. According to Nintendo’s president Satoru Iwata, the ratio of female 3DS users currently using the Nintendo 3DS gaming console in Japan is well below 50%, while it stands at around 50% for the Nintendo Wii and slightly more for the Nintendo DS.

| iOS 5 Beta 8 Coming This Friday, iPhone 5 Launching Early October? Posted: 13 Sep 2011 07:40 AM PDT According to a recent report by the BGR, who have received some information from one of their sources, Apple will be releasing iOS beta 8 to developers this Friday, and this could mean that the iOS 5 Gold Master build will be available around the 23rd of September. According to the report, this would mean that hardware manufacturers who are making the iPhone 5 for Apple will get the Gold Master version of iOS 5 shortly after the 23rd and then will have until the 5th of October to give technical acceptance to Apple.

Once its been added by Google to your Google Docs account, to give comment-only access to your document, click on the “Share” button. | Another HTC Runnymede Official Photo Leaked Posted: 13 Sep 2011 07:15 AM PDT Earlier today we showed you an official press shot that had been leaked of the new HTC Runnymede smartphone, now we have an even better one which gives us a much better look at the device including the back of the HTC Runnymede. As you can see from the photo, the HTC Runnymede will come with Beats Audio, and it looks like there is a dual LED flash next to the camera which is reported to an 8 megapixel camera, and also come with Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

| AMD Sets New World Record With 8.429GHz Overclock On FX Processor (video) Posted: 13 Sep 2011 06:49 AM PDT It was time for AMD to crack open the liquid -nitrogen and liquid-helium again as it set a new world record by clocking its new FX processor to a staggering 8.429Ghz. The AMD Overclocking Team used a pre-release FX processor and a tank of liquid-helium to push the processor well over 8GHz (even with the anti-virus enabled at one point), setting a new world record for a modern processor frequency in the process to 8.429GHz, breaking the previous record of 8.309GHz. The MacBook Air EFI Firmware update includes fixes that enhance the stability of Lion Recovery from an Internet connection. | Levitatr Bluetooth Keyboard Features Retractable Keys (Video) Posted: 13 Sep 2011 04:52 AM PDT We have featured a number of Bluetooth keyboards here at Geeky Gadgets, but I think this one is probably the coolest, the Levitatr Keyboard, which is the work of designer James Stumpf. The Levitatr Keyboard is a Kickstarter project, and James is trying to raise $60,000 to put the keyboard into production, and it will retail for $99 when it goes on sale, have a look at the video of it in action below.

| Nokia’s First Windows Phone 7 Smartphone Coming In 2012? Posted: 13 Sep 2011 04:19 AM PDT We were expecting Nokia to debut their first Windows Phone 7 device before the end of this year, now it would appear that the first Nokia Windows Phone 7 device may not launch until the first quarter of 2012. The guys from WP7R spoke to someone from Nokia, and were told that the first Windows Phone 7 smartphone from Nokia wont launch in Australia until quarter one of 2012.

| Intels New Atom Processors To Support Android Gingerbread Posted: 13 Sep 2011 04:09 AM PDT Intel has announced that it will be launching it new range of Intel Atom E Series processor in January of 2012, and they will offer support for Google’s Android OS in the form of Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Intel’s processor have not officially supported Google’s Android OS until now, this hasn’t stopped developers getting them to work with Google TV hardware.

| Amazon Talking To Magazine Publishers On Amazon Tablet Posted: 13 Sep 2011 02:26 AM PDT We are expecting Amazon to launch their new Amazon Tablet some time in November, and now according to a recent report Amazon are in talks with a number of Magazine publishers about getting their content onto Amazon’s new tablets. According to the WSJ, the deals that Amazon is offering magazine publishers is very similar to the ones that Apple offers, although it would appear that Amazon are willing to offer a slightly better deal than Apple.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 features a 10.1 inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, there is also a dual core 1GHz processor and it is capable of playing back full HD video in 1080p.

To get the most from your new d-touch sequencer and to actually hear anything you will need to have access to a PC and web camera. | NVIDIA’s Tegra Roadmap Reveals Windows Phone Processor Posted: 13 Sep 2011 12:38 AM PDT We know that NVIDIA’s successor to the popular Tegra 2 processor will be called the Kal-El, a quad core processor, and now details of NVIDIA’s future processor have been revealed in their latest roadmap. After the new Kal-El processor NVIDIA will be releasing a Kal-El+ processor, and after that there will be the Wayne and Grey processors, the Wayne is reported to be about five times faster than the current NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor.

The Tokyoflash Kisai Night Vision watch can be recharged via USB, and as usual with the majority of their watches it takes a bit of brain power to work out the time, I will let the Tokyoflash guys explain how it works.

| EA Is Making Syndicate Wars Reboot Posted: 12 Sep 2011 05:56 PM PDT We haven’t really played a Syndicate game back in the day, but we hear they were fairly nice. Nice enough for people to be clamoring for a remake close to two decades later. Turns out clamour is good for something after all, as EA is apparently bringing the franchise back from the dead, or in this case the comatose. And we’re almost certain the success of fellow dormant franchise reboot Deus Ex Human Revolution had nothing to do with it.

Consumers then wised up to the fact hardware isn’t worth the sand its silicone came from without killer apps, so those for a while, those drove purchases.
