Intel SSD 710 Series Breaks Cover

Intel has unveiled a new SSD today that is aimed at the data center in the enterprise market. The SSD has many features that are designed to make it perform as if it uses SLC NAND, but actually has cheaper MLC NAND inside. The SLC NAND is known to be more reliable.

Boeing chooses Android to Power 787 Dreamliner In-flight Entertainment Screens

Space 3 Concept Phone Is Totally Unbelievable

Take your average touch screen, multiply it, then combine both screens into one phone. The designers didn’t bother with the engineering part, however, so their concept has to be taken on blind faith that it’s awesome. According to the available concept illustrations, each touchscreen are independent wireless devices that can be separated or opened like a book. Wenhing Chou and Kok Keong Wong might be onto something.

Amazon has today unveiled plans to launch its new AmazonLocal on its advert supported Kindle devices. If you own an advert support Kindle you can expect the new adverts to start dropping on to your devices screensavers within the next couple of days.

The Kindle will then allow you to view your city’s AmazonLocal deals and purchase the deal directly from your Kindle, without re-entering your account or credit card information. make it even easier to treat yourself.

HP Unveils New Range Of IPS Based Professional Displays

The new ZR2x40w-series displays are equipped with new colour accurate in-plane switching (IPS) technology and range from the 20 inch ZR2040w, for $189 with a 1600 x 900 resolution. Yamaha Restio iPod Docks Announced

Yamaha has announced a new range of iPod docks, called the Yamaha Restio, and as you can see from the photos they look very stylish when compared to some of the previous iPod docks we have seen.

The Yamaha Restio iPod Dock will also come with a slot loading CD player, an AM/FM tuner and a USB port so you can play your favourite tunes from a USB device.

Worlds Most Expensive Toy Car Costs $4.8 Million

German master model maker Robert Gülpen has created the worlds most expensive toy car which costs 12 times more than the real life version. Gülpen spent 500 hours recreating a model Lamborghini Aventador in carbon fibre and then decorated it with platinum, gold and precious stones. Adding diamonds to the headlights, wheel rims and interior.

Sony Announces Red And Blue PS3 Slim Consoles

It looks like Sony has added two new colorful PS3 Slim consoles to its range, which are scheduled to go on sale in japan in November, and the two new colors will be red and Blue.

Mac OS X Skype 5.4 Beta Brings Facebook Integration

Today Skype has released a new beta version for Mac OS X Skype 5.4, which brings with it Facebook integration and features that are already been added to the Skype 5.5 Windows version.

The new update brings all the same features Windows users have been using including the ability to now IM and connect with your Facebook friends without leaving Skype. As well as allowing you to read and update your News Feed, as well as comment and ‘Like’ your Facebook friends’ posts directly from within Skype.

The other day we saw our 2nd leaked press shot of the new HTC Runnymede Android smartphone, and now it would appear that the device will have a different name at launch and could possibly be called the HTC Bass.

One UK retailer, has now listed the HTC Runnymede on its website, although it is calling the device the HTC Bass,and the photo includedwith the listing calls the device the HTC Runnymede.

Vocre a new iPhone application launched this week enables live iPhone-to-iPhone voice translation. Simply install the applications and select the languages you need translated. Currently supported languages include: English, American English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin, and Spanish.

Sharp Kills Off Two Galapagos Android Tablets

Sharp has launched a total of three Galapagos Android tablets, and it looks like the company has decided to kill off two of their Android tablets, and the original tablets which were announced a while back have been discontinued.

Sharp recently launch the Sharp Galapagos A01SH, which is an Android Honeycomb tablet, and the only one which wont be killed off, the tablet was only announced last month.

Sony Unveils Outrageous New PSN Terms of Service

Today the Sony Network Entertainment America transfers its online services to Sony Network Entertainment International and with it a new terms of service have been released that PSN members must agree to.

But be careful before you sign as a clause at the bottom of the new terms of service indicates that once you agree you will not be able to take Sony to court or participate in a class action lawsuit against the company. Which seems a little sneaky considering their network was hacked and left 70 million users personal information exposed.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 was announced back in march, and its looks like it is about to go on sale in the US as it has turned up for pre-order at a number of retailers including Best Buy.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 comes with Android Honeycomb and it features a 8.9 inch multi-touch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, and a dual core 1GHz processor.

Canon Announces New S100 And SX40 HS PowerShot Cameras With DIGIC 5 Image Processor

Canon has today announced the launch of two new cameras with the unveiling of the new Powershot S100 created to replace the S95 and the Powershot SX40 HS replacing the Canon SX30.

The Canon SX40 HS is equipped with 12.1 MP sensor and DiGiC processor as in the S100 providing 1080p recording and a burst capture HQ feature allowing the SX40 to shoot at up to 8 frames per second at full resolution. Its also fitted with smart image stabilisation and expected to arrive in stores during late September for $429

Dead Island Hits 1 Million US Retail Sales In Its First Week

Even after all the problems the PC version of the game has experienced over the last week. The new Dead Island zombie game developer Techland and publisher Deep Silver must be over the moon with its first weeks sales which have now topped 1 million units to retail in the US.

Deep Silver is now hoping to carry on the trend and reach 2 million units to retail worldwide by the end of its second week, its been revealed in their press release today.

Pantech Breakout LTE Hits Verizon 22nd September

We saw some photos and details of the new Pantech Breakout LTE which is headed to Verizon and now it looks like it will be available on Verizon from the 22nd of September.

The Pantech Breakout will come with Android 2.3 Gingerbread and it features a4 inch mulit-touch touchscreen display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, processing comes with the form of a single core 1GHz processor.

Sony PlayStation Suite SDK Arriving In November

LG Shuriken Eighteen Ultrabook Unveiled (Video)

The latest company to launch a new ultrabook is LG with the launch of The LG Shuriken Eighteen ultrabook, which has been shown off at the Intel Developer Forum in San Francisco.

The LG Shuriken Eighteen features a 13.3 inch LCD display and a chiclet style keyboard plus a large touchpad which features separate mouse buttons, have a look at the video of it in action below.

Microsoft Drops Flash In Windows 8 Metro Internet Explorer 10

Microsoft has revealed this week that their new tablet optimised version of Windows 8 Metro will provide a ”plug-in free experience,” for users of their Internet Explorer 10 browser. Dropping support for Adobe’s Flash plugin on their tablet IE10 browser, following Apple’s decision to do the same on its iPad tablets.

Microsoft explains the reason for dropping the Flash plugin is because its “not a good match with Metro style browsing and the modern HTML5 web.”. Desktop versions of Microsoft’s IE10 will continue to support Adobe Flash however.

Windows 8 Running On An EXOPC Slate (Video)

We have already seen some Windows 8 running on the new Samsung Windows 8 Developer tablet, as well as running on an NVIDIA Kal-El tablet, and have even seen it running on an old Asus Eee PC netbook.

NASA Unveils Plans To Build Worlds Largest Rocket (video)

NASA has this week unveiled plans to build the worlds largest rocket costing an estimated costing $18 billion and a successor to the Space Shuttle. The new rocket will be a 320-foot-tall Space Launch System (SLS) and will be the most powerful NASA has built since the Saturn V rockets.

Samsung Files New Smartphone And Tablet Trademarks

Samsung has filed a new range of trademarks related to smartphones and tablets, which could give us a clue to some of the names of future Samsung devices, which include the Samsung Lens, Samsung Shortcut, Samsung Centura, Samsung Montage and Samsung Array.

The new trademark applications from Samsung were filed with the United States Patent and Trademark office on the 9th of September 2011, and it looks like the Samsung Array trademark had been filed previously.

Sony S Tablet Hits The UK Tomorrow

The Sony S Tablet recently went up for pre-order here in the UK, and it will go on sale in the UK tomorrow and will be available from a couple of retailers in the UK from 7am tomorrow.

The Sony S Tablet will be available from PC World and Currys from tomorrow, from the Tottenham Court Road PC World store in London and the Black Store in Birmingham, and the first 100 customers will also receive a free Sony Bravia TV worth £400, will this be enough to get people interested in Sony’s new Android Tablet?

We have been hearing rumors about another new Android device from HTC, the HTC Bliss, which we are expecting HTC to announce at their press event next week on the 20th of September.

Now it would appear that the HTC Bliss will be called the HTC Rhyme, and it will come with the latest version of HTC’s custom user interface, HTC Sense 3.5.

Super Thin Jaguar3 Android Tablet Prototype Created By ZiiLabs-Creative Partnership

ZiiLabs has joined forces with Creative and designed a new range of Android tablets, one of which is the super slim Jaguar3 Android tablet pictured below. The tablets are currently prototypes which can be purchased by companies with custom specifications to then be sold on to consumers.

The Jaguar3 will be priced at around $100 to companies and will probably end up under $200 once they hit stores. Its powered by a a dual-core ZMS-20 1.5GHz ARM Cortex A9 processor and 48 of Zii's StemCell Processors and sports a 10 inch 1280×800 touchscreen with dual cameras.

Orange CEO Says iPhone 5 Coming To France 15th Of October

According to the CEO of mobile operator Orange, Stéphane Richard, the iPhone 5 will launch in France on the 15th of October, and a recent interview with a TV channel in France, the Orange CEO let slip the 15th of October for the launch date of the iPhone 5 on the Orange network in France.

This isn’t the first time that the Orange CEO has let things slip about new Apple products, as he gave out some information about the original iPad before it launched, although some of the specifications he mentioned back then were incorrect.

Windows 8 Running On NVIDIA Kal-El Tablet (Video)

Yesterday we got to see a video of Windows 8 running on the new Windows 8 Developer tablet, the tablet which is produced by Samsung runs an Intel Core i5 processor.

The video below shows Windows 8 running on an NVIDIA Kal-El tablet, which features NVIDIA’s new quad core Kal-El processor, and as you can see from the video below, Windows 8 looks pretty good on the NVIDIA tablet.

Windows 8 Developer Preview Reaches 500,000 Downloads

Microsoft released the developer preview of their new operating system late on Tuesday, Windows 8, and Yesterday Microsoft’s CEO Steve Ballmer announced that Windows 8 had already been download over 500,000 times.

We have already seen a video of Windows 8 running on a netbook and have also had a look at Windows 8 running on a tablet, and Microsoft are looking to unify Windows 8 across a number of devices which includes, notebooks, PCs and tablets.

YouTube Launches New Video Editor (video)

YouTube has today launched a new video editor to provide you with a quick and easy way to edit existing and already published videos without the need to re-upload them. The new editor has been added in addition to the the existing editor that is currently within the TestTube labs area.

The other day we told you that the new Asus Eee Pad Slider had gone up for pre-order in the US, and it looks like Asus’s latest Eee Pad device will go on sale before the end of September.

The Asus Eee Pad Slider will come with Android Honeycomb 3.2, and it features a 10.1 inch LED backlit display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, it also comes with a slide out QWERTY keyboard and processing is provided by a dual core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor.

Minecraft 1.8 Adventure Update Now Live Officially

If you have been waiting for the official release of the new Minecraft 1.8 Adventure update your wait is now over as the download is now available from official sources from today. The release was semi leaked last week but has now formally been released by the Minecraft team, via a Tweet from Markus Persson (@notch).

The new update brings the new Adventure mode allowing you to seek out adventure in new lands and villages. Together with a new creative mode which allows you to build anything you like within the game.

HTC Desire HD Gets Beats Audio ROM

Yesterday the first Beats Audio enabled device from HTC was announced, the HTC Sensation XE, but its looks like it wont be the first HTC device to get Beats Audio, thanks to the guys over at the XDA Developer Forum.

The XDA guys have put together a Beats Audio ROM, which is based on the leaked HTC Runnymede ROM, and it is designed to bring HTC’s Beats Audio to the Desire HD.

Google Nexus Prime To Be Taller Than Nexus S?

We know that Samsung is making the Nexus Prime for Google, and now according to the guys over at The Droid Guy, who have reportedly seen the device it will be taller and slightly thicker than the Google Nexus S.

According to the report, the Google Nexus Prime will come with a dual core TI OMAP processor, possibly the OMAP 4460 and it will feature an 8 megapixel on the back plus a front facing 2 megapixel camera.

Apple’s iMessage Being Built Into OS X Lion’s iChat?

One of the new features that Apple will launch with iOS 5, which is expected to launch shortly, is iMessage, it is basically a unified chat messaging service for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

Now according to a recent report from the guys over at Mac Rumors, Apple is also building iMessage into OS X Lion’s iChat service, which would mean that he iMessage service would also be available on Mac OS X Lion devices as well as iOS devices.

Google Launches Google Goggles 1.6

Google has launched a new version of Google Goggles, the latest version is Google Goggles 1.6 and it is designed to enhance the camera on your Android smartphone, and it comes with a new opt-in feature that will let you take a photo with your Android device’s camera and the Google Goggles will work in the background to analyze your photo.

The Google Goggles application will then notify you if it can recognize items that are contained within the photo, Google explains how it works below.

Yesterday we heard that Facebook had introduced Smart Lists, and now the world’s largest social network has added another new feature, the Subscribe Button, which is designed to make it easier for you to choose exactly what is shown in your Facebook news feed.

The Subscribe Button will let you choose exactly what you see from other people in your news feed, you will now also be able to subscribe to content from other people who are not in your friends list, and also share your content with other people who are not in your friends list.

Google Buys Another 1,000 Patents From IBM

Back in August we reported that Google had purchased over 1,000 patents from IBM, then we heard that Google was buying Motorola Mobility, which would give the search giant a large patent portfolio that could be used to defend Google’s Android OS from the like of Apple and Microsoft.

Now it would appear that Google has purchased another 1,022 patents from IBM, and it looks like the purchase to place back in August, with a final transaction date of the 13th of September.

Dyson Hot Heater Fan Announced
