Sony Ericsson announced its Xperia arc S, an enhanced version of the Xperia arc. According to the company, the new arc S eatures 25% faster camera start up and media conversion , along with 20% faster web page rendering compared to Xperia arc, thanks to the new powerful Snapdragon MSM8255 1.4GHz processor. The phone comes with a 4.2-inch 854×480 Reality display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine and a 8.1 Megapixel caemra with Exmor R for mobile image sensor. It includes the 3D and 2D sweep panorama photography.
The Xperia arc S runs Android 2.3.4 Gingerbrad. It supports GPS/aGPS, Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity. The phone has 512MB RAM and 1GB internal storage but there is only 320MB free memory for user. It has a microSD/SDHC card slot for expansion though. The arc S comes with a really powerful camera offering auto focus, face detection, 720p HD video recording, image stabilizer, smile detection. The Android phone is DLNA ceritified and includes the new xLOUD Loudness Enhancement Technology. Also, it offers access to the Sony Entertainment Network services – Music Unlimited and Video Unlimited. The Xperia arc S supports quad-band GSM and quad-band UMTS/HSPA networks. It will be available in Q4 in Pure White, Midnght blue, Misty Silver, Gloss Black and Sakura Pink.

Creative introduces a new MP3 player, the ZEN X-Fi3, follow-up to the X-Fi2, with Bluetooth connectivity. The new compact players features a 2-inch LCD display with touch-buttons. It supports, in addition to MP3, WAV, WMA, Audible 4, the FLAC lossless audio format as well as iTunes Plus – also known as unprotected AAC (.m4a). With Bluetooth support, the player can connect with Bluetooth-enabled headphones and speakers for wireless music playback.
As a X-Fi player, the new ZEN features X-Fi Crystalizer for restoring lost details and the X-Fi Expand for most natural sound staging. The X-Fi3 also has built-in apt-X codec that enables superior wireless Bluetooth transmission when ZEN X-Fi3 is used with Bluetooth headphones and speakers with apt-X codec support. The unit comes with 8GB or 16GB internal storage and supports microSD/SDHC cards.
Creative’s new MP3 player also comes with built-in microphone for voice recording, built-in speakers, and FM radio. It also supports JPEG images files and WMV9, MPEG4-SP, AVI (DivX4/5, XviD) video playback. There is video output connector. Scosche announced its new RDTX-PRO radiation detector and app for iPhone and iPod touch. According to the company, the device needs no calibration and allows users to accurately detect gamma radiation above 60keV within +/- 5% accuracy. It connects to iPhone/iPod touch via the dock connector and is designed to use with the free radTEST application that offers consumer friendly meter display that shows radiation levels as safe (green), elevated (yellow) or dangerous (red).
The Scosche RDTX-PRO can also be used as a radiation alarm independently from the iOS device. When being used as a standalone alarm the RDTX-PRO runs on one AA battery and provides up to 96 hour of radiation detection. Coming in September, the Scosche RDTX-PRO radiation detector is priced at $349.99.

Active Media Products introduces its new SaberTooth M1 series mSATA solid state drives. Measuring just 50mm in length, the M1 uses the mini SATA II 3Gbps interface. It is based on MLC NAND flash and utilizes the Jmicron JMF605 4-channel controller. It is fully compliant with JEDEC MO-300B mSATA specifications. The new SaberTooth M1 is available in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB capacities. It offers up to 160MB/s read and 80MB/s write speeds.
