A-DATA launches its new S510 series SATA III SSD, which is “a highly cost-effective option for SSD upgrades of existing systems, and for new SATA 6Gb/s enabled computers”. Utilizing the SandForce SF-2200 controller and SATA III 6Gbps interface, the S510 delivers up to 550MB/s read and 510MB/s write speeds with 4K random write speeds as high as 85,000 IOPS. Toshiba announced its FlashAir (THNSW008GAA-A), the world’s first SDHC memory card with embedded wireless LAN capability. While the EyeFi SD cards can upload photos from digital camera to computer wirelessly, the FlashAir allows users to upload and download photographs to and from a server and to exchange photographs and other data with other devices, including digital cameras that are FlashAir compliant and, smartphones and PCs that support WiFi. Even in digital cameras not compliant with FlashAir, the new card can share digital images with smartphones and PCs that support wireless LAN The FlashAir supports WiFi 802.11b/g/n connectivity and WEP, TKIP, AES (WPA, WPA2) wireless security standard. Pentax launches a new compact ultra zoom digital camera, the Optio RZ18 with a powerful 18x optical zoom lens covering focal lengths from 25mm wide angle to 450mm super-telephoto (in the 35mm format). The 16 Megapixel camera comes with a large 3-inch HVGA LCD display.
The new RZ18 features sensor-shift Shake Reduction (SR) mechanism and Pixel Track SR to reduce camera shake to a minimum for more blur-free images even under shake-prone shooting conditions. It includes Auto Picture mode, scene modes as well as creative special-effects filters. You can also find advanced 9-point auto focuces with a 4cm super macro mode, face detection and dedicated pet recognition. The Optio RZ18 records 720p HD video at 30fps. It will be available in October for $299.95 in black, peral white and metallic orange.

NEC announced its new NP-L50W lightweight LED digital projector designed for traveling business users. The new projector is equipped with LED solid state light source offering 500 lumens brightness, up to 20,000 hours of life, and a mercury-free design. Based on 0.45-inch DLP technology, the L50W features 1140×912 WXGA native resolution, 2500:1 contrast ratio.
The NEC L50W comes with 1GB internal memory for storing presentation files and media files. It supports MJPEG (AVI), MPEG2, H.264 (AVI, MOV, MP4, 3GP) and WMV videos; MP3, WMA, WAV audio; JPEG, BMP image files. There is also Office Viewer that supports Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, as well as Adobe PDF documents. Its SD input expands the internal storage up to 32GB.
The NP-L50W has a filter-free design eliminating the hassle and time spent monitoring and changing filters. It sports a 2-watt speaker, built-in wall color correction, built-in closed captioning, and 10-step magnification with location control allows you to zoom in on key information. The unit provides HDMI, VGA and composite inputs. Coming in October, the NEC L50W is priced at $799.
