| iZettle Payment Service Unveils Rival iOS Application To Square (video) Posted: 14 Nov 2011 06:33 AM PST Earlier today I reported about mobile phone payment service Square now clearing $11 million in payments everyday. Well iZettle is now looking for a slice of those mobile payments and has launched it very own payment service. iZettle has been testing its new payment service in Sweden since August and has today iZettle co-founder and CEO Jacob de Geer announced that the payment gateway will no rollout further in it own country with a launch in "major markets" is planned to take place in early 2012. | Google Music To Launch Without Some Major Record Labels Posted: 14 Nov 2011 06:00 AM PST Earlier today we heard that Google has scheduled a special event for this Wednesday the 16th of November, where they are expected to announce their Google Music Store, and we also saw some leaked screen shots of the new Google Music Store. We have been hearing over the past few weeks that Google has been in discussion with the major record labels for their new Music Store, but now it would appear that Google may not have signed deals with all of the labels it wanted to for the stores launch.

As a reminder, the HTC Rezound comes with a 4.3 inch HD touchscreen display with a 1280 x 720 pixel resolution, it also features a dual core 1.5GHz processor and it comes with Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

| Lenovo 10.1 Inch Tegra 3, Android 4.0 Tablet Leaked Posted: 14 Nov 2011 05:19 AM PST It looks like Lenovo will be the latest company to release a new Android tablet with NVIDIA’s new quad core Tegra 3 processor, and the tablet is also expected to come with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. According to a recent report from Engadget, the new Lenovo tablet will also come with 2GB of 1,600MHz DDR3 RAM, as well as the Tegra 3 processor, plus a rear facing camera with an LED flash and a full sized USB port.

| Samsung Omnia W Lands In The UK Posted: 14 Nov 2011 04:40 AM PST The Samsung Omnia W was announced back in September, and it is one of Samsung’s first Windows Phone Mango devices, and it would appear it is now available in the UK, through online retailer Play, who are selling a SIM free version of the Omnia W for £339.99. As a reminder, the Samsung Omnia W comes with a 3.7 inch Super AMOLED touchscreen display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels, processing is in the form of a single core 1.4GHz processor and it also comes with 512MB of RAM.

| Square Now Processing $11 Million A Day Via Mobile Payments Posted: 14 Nov 2011 03:22 AM PST During a Techonomy conference in Tucson, Arizona founder of Square mobile payments company Jack Dorsey revealed that his new company is now processing $11 million in mobile payments a day. The new figures are a dramatic increase for just $4 million a day payments officially announced last July and Dorsey puts it amazing growth down to the same thing that drives Twitter, which Dorsey also created.

| HTC To Launch Quad Core Tegra 3 Tablet In 2012? Posted: 14 Nov 2011 03:13 AM PST Last week we found out some details on HTC’s first NVIDIA Tegra 3 powered device, the quad core HTC Edge Android smartphone, and now it would appear that HTC also plans to use NVIDIA’s quad core Tegra 3 processor in future tablets. According to a recent report, we may see our first quad core Tegra 3 tablet from HTC at the Mobile World Congress 2012, in February of next year, and it could possibly be the only new Android tablet we will see from HTC next year.

| One Days Worth Of Flickr Images Transformed Into Artistic Installation Posted: 14 Nov 2011 03:05 AM PST Artisit and photographer Erik Kessels has used one days worth of Flickr uploads to create an artistic installation as part of an exhibition at Foam in Amsterdam that looks at the future of photography. The installation includes over a million photo prints which Kessels used to visualises ‘drowning in pictures of the experiences of others’, by printing all the images that were posted on Flickr during a 24-hour period and dumping them in the exhibition space.

The new technology has been developed developed by Burton from initial work carried out by AIST and Keio University back in 2006 and is now able to created coloured images using red, green and blue lasers. | LG Optimus LTE Coming To AT&T As LG Nitro HD Posted: 14 Nov 2011 02:17 AM PST The LG Optimus LTE was announced back in October, and the device was headed to South Korea, last week we also heard that the LG Optimus LTE would launch in Canada, and we have been waiting to find out when it would go on sale in the US. According to a recent report the LG Optimus LTE is headed to US mobile carrier AT&T and it will be called the LG Nitro HD, and it will share many of the specifications of the original Optimus LTE.

| Intel And MasterCard Bringing NFC PayPass Payments To Ultrabooks Posted: 14 Nov 2011 01:33 AM PST Intel and MasterCard have today announced a new partnership that will allow them to bring NFC PayPass credit card payments to Ultrabooks. Allowing users to benefit from two-factor authentication and chip-based display protection when paying for items over the Internet. The system will allow users to pay using a tap of their NFC smartphone or any other PayPass-enabled device together with their Ultrabook. The system will generate a six-digit code from the embedded processor or from within the Manageability Engine.

| Lionsgate UK Films Arriving On Netflix For UK Launch Posted: 14 Nov 2011 01:16 AM PST Netflix and Lionsgate UK have today announced a partnership that will bring films from Lionsgate UK to Netflix once it launches in the UK and Ireland in early 2012. The additional films from Lionsgate UK will be available to Netflix customers to watch instantly on either HDTVs, tablets, computers, games consoles and mobile devices once you have subscribed to a Netflix subscription.

| Google Music Store Screen Shots Leaked? Posted: 14 Nov 2011 01:05 AM PST We heard earlier that Google is expected to launch their Google Music Store at a special event they are holding on the 16th of November, and now it would appear that the first screen shots of the Google Music Store may have been leaked. The guys over at TechnoDroidVE discovered a work in progress version of the Google Music Store, using a HTC Inspire 4G device, and you can see some screenshots of what they found below.

| Unlocked iPhone 4S Lands In The US Posted: 14 Nov 2011 12:34 AM PST When the iPhone 4S was launched here in the UK you could either purchase it on a contract from one of the mobile providers, or you could purchase an unlocked version direct from Apple. With the US launch of the iPhone 4S, it was only available to purchase from one of the US carriers, which included Sprint, AT&T and Verizon, and now Apple is selling an unlocked version of the iPhone 4S in the US.

| Google Holding Music Event On The 16th Of November Posted: 14 Nov 2011 12:28 AM PST It looks like Google’s Music Store could possibly be announced this week, as Google has sent out invites to a special event on the 16th of November, and the event is reportedly related to Google’s new music service and their music store. We have been hearing a lot about Google’s Music Store over the last few weeks, and Google recently said that their music store would feature a ‘twist’, although we don’t exactly know what the twist involves as yet.

| Motorola Droid RAZR Gets Taken Apart Posted: 14 Nov 2011 12:22 AM PST The Motorola Droid RAZR went on sale in the US last week, and now the guys over at iFixit have performed the usual teardown on the device, which comes with a 4.3 inch qHD display, a dual core 1.2GHz processor and 1GB of RAM. The Droid RAZR also features a front facing 1.3 megapixel camera and a rear facing 8 megapixel camera which can record HD video in 1080p, plus 32GB of storage, which includes 16GB of built in storage and 16GB via a microSD card slot.

| Apple Investigating iOS 5 Battery Problems After Recent Update Posted: 14 Nov 2011 12:06 AM PST Last week Apple released iOS 5.0.1, which was supposed to fix the battery problems that many users have been experiencing with iOS 5 and the iPhone 4S and iPhone 4, unfortunately it looks like the update didn’t solve the problem for everyone. A number of users on Apple’s support forums continued to report problems with the battery life on their device after the iOS 5.0.1 update, and now Apple has said that they are continuing to investigate the issue, when speaking to the guys over at All Things D.

| Android 4.0 Face Unlock Feature Hacked With A Photo (Video) Posted: 13 Nov 2011 11:59 PM PST When Google announced the latest version of their mobile OS, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, one of the coolest features we saw was the ability to unlock the device with Google’s new face unlock feature. Not it would appear that the face unlock feature isn’t that secure, and it can actually be hacked with a photo, as you will see in the video below, a photo on a Samsung Galaxy Note was shown to the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and it unlocked the device.

| LG To Debut Google TV At CES 2012? Posted: 13 Nov 2011 11:42 PM PST The other day we heard that Logitech had decided to cancel their Google TV set top boxes, the Logitech Revue, but it would appear that other companies are still interested in developing devices with the Google TV platform. According to a recent report by Bloomberg, LG will be showing off their first Google TV enabled devices at CES 2012 in January, and they are expected to unveil a new TV set with Google TV built in.

| Kobo Touch With Offers $100 eReader Announced Posted: 13 Nov 2011 11:35 PM PST It looks like Kobo has decided to follow Amazon, as the company is launching a cheaper version of its Kobo Touch eReader, which is supported by adverts, the Kobo Touch with offers. The Kobo Touch with offers will retail for $99.99, $40 cheaper than the original Kobo Touch, there is a catch though as it will come with adverts, and the device is expected to go on sale some time towards the end of November or start of December.

| iTunes 10.5.1 Beta 3 Released To Developers Posted: 13 Nov 2011 11:17 PM PST Apple has released their latest beta version of iTunes to developers, iTunes 10.5.1 Beta 3, which also comes with Apple’s iTunes Match, and it looks like the developers have had their iTunes Match libraries wiped again. We were expecting Apple to launch iTunes Match at the end of October, as this was when it was announced as the launch date, although we are now half way through November and still don’t have any official word from Apple on when iTunes Match will launch.

| Lego Darth Vader Key Chain Has A Led Light In its Foot Posted: 13 Nov 2011 11:00 PM PST So yeah, Lord Vader has got a lamp on his foot. Oh wait, make that feet. Both of them got the sparkly stuff. Odd placement but keep in mind this is a Lego miniature. Dubbed a Mini Torch (emphasis on mini), this Darth Vader incarnation can’t do much else besides a minute amount of illumination. Oh yeah, maybe it can hold a couple of Lego lightsabers, but other than that, nada.

Not only is he $14,000 richer thanks to acing the 2011 Dyson Award, but his little device could change the world. Airdrop Irrigation is a clever contraption that collects condensation, humidifies it, and collects the resulting moisture in a small underground tank. Real simple stuff indeed. The best part is it works. Linacre field tested it in his mom’s house.
