Motorola XT615 Android Smartphone for Taiwan Posted: 25 Nov 2011 12:52 AM PST Motorola is launching in Taiwan the XT615 Android smartphone that measures just 9.8mm thin. The phone is boosted by a 800MHz processor with 512MB RAM and 1GB ROM, and runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS with MOTO Switch UI 2.0 that learns who you talk to and which apps you use and keeps all of that information front and center. The XT615 has a 4-inch 480×854 touchscreen display, a 8 Megapixel camera with LED flash and a VGA front camera. Motorola’s new phone is just 9.8mm thin and comes with a 1390mAh battery for up to 300 minutes of talk time. The XT615 supports Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP, and WiFi connectivity. It has a microSD card slot and USB 2.0 connector. Coming in mid-December, the Motorola XT615 will be available exclusively from Taiwan Mobile for NT$10900. Roland SPD-SX Percussive Sampling Pad Posted: 24 Nov 2011 09:43 PM PST   Roland launches the new SPD-SX, the “Ultimate Percussive Sampling Pad”. The portable multi-pad percussion instrument comes with 2GB onboard sampling memory and three effects engines. With 2GB internal memory, the SPD-SX can store more than three hours of CD-quality sampling in stereo which can be captured via the stereo mic/line input or imported through USB.   Roland’s new sampling pad supports Multi-Pad Sampling, ideal for capturing complete songs, then assigning individual song sections to specific pads. Each of the nine integrated trigger pads features pad-sensing technology for even, accurate triggering and dynamic sensitivity, and a dynamic LED that illuminates when a pad is struck, and also responds to audio-level activity. The SPD-SX has three units of multi-effects onboard, with two real-time control knobs and four dedicated effect buttons. Two dual-trigger inputs allow users to expand the SPD-SX with optional external pads and acoustic drum triggers for even more triggering options.
