Assassins Creed Revelations Arrives Early On PC, Now Available (video)

If you have been waiting for the launch of the new Assassins Creed Revelations game on PC. You will be pleased to know that its has already arrive in the US and is now available to download and play. Assassins Creed Revelations arrived on the Xbox 360 and PS3 earlier this month.

If you are outside the US, Assassins Creed Revelations will be arriving tomorrow on Steam, with Steam currently stating that the game will unlock in just 8 hours time. Watch a new trailer for the game after the jump entitled : Assassin’s Creed Embers, after the jump.

Worlds First Elasticated USB Data Cables Unveiled (video)

Asahi Kasei corporation has unveiled a new cable called the Roboden, which is the worlds first elasticated cable, that can be used for USB devices, data transfer or power.

The company has developed the new Roboden cables working with Spandex, and based their designs on the way the human skin is able to stretch and bounce back, by a factor of around 1.5. Watch the video after the jump to see the new Roboden cables in action.

Engineers Use 3D Printer And Bone Like Material To Create New Bones (video)

3D printers are becoming more and more common in every day life and are even becoming available to the masses via Kickstarter. Now Researchers at Washington State University and engineers have been able to use a customised 3D printer to create a bone like material.

Which researchers are hoping will allow them to repair injuries in humans. The new material can be used as a support to help broken bones while they mend, and then dissolve away, leaving no side effects in the patient.

HP webOS Decision To be Announced In Two Weeks

We recently heard that HP may be considering selling off webOS, which the company acquired when the purchased Palm, and it ended up costing HP over $3.3 billion, and now the company has announced that they will decided what to do with webOS within the next two weeks.

HP’s CEO Meg Whitman recently told French newspaper Le Figaro, that the company would make a decision within the next two weeks on what to do with webOS.

Gunpoint, Indie Game Trailer Unveils Fresh Approach To Game Design (video)

In a world where big name games development companies fight over sales. It great to see independent games developers brings fresh life to the gaming scene. Rather than the standard genre of FPS, sports or hack and slash gaming.

Developer and PC Gamer writer Tom Francis is currently developing whats shaping up to be a great new style of game with a retro feel, called Gunpoint. First BlackBerry BBX Smartphone To Be Called BlackBerry Surfboard?

We recently heard about the first BBX powered BlackBerry smartphone, which was rumored to be called the BlackBerry London, although at the time it wasn’t clear whether this would be the devices actual name or just a codename.

Now according to a recent report from TechCrunch, RIM’s first BBX powered BlackBerry smartphone will be called the BlackBerry Surfboard, and apparently RIM has already filed a trademark for this name.

Apple iOS 5.1 Beta Still Doesn’t Fix Battery Drain

Early reports are beginning to filter through from a few users of Apple’s iOS 5.1 beta. Reporting that the new iOS 5.1 software still doesn’t address the battery drain issue, some iPhone 4S users are experiencing.

Apple has already rolled out a couple of updates to its iOS software, which have included tweaks to try and solve the issues. But after rolling these out in 5.0.1, users still complained that the problem remained.

Battlefield 3 Reaches 8 Million Sales

Many thought that EA’s Battlefield 3 game would have a hard time finding sales launching the same month as the new Call of Duty : Modern Warfare 3 game. But even after considerable first day sales, Battlefield 3′s sales are still growing well , even after its initial launch buzz has begun to fade a little.

Even though its competitor Modern Warfare 3 sold a staggering 9.3 million copies during it first week. Battlefield 3 has provided a different game style and mechanics, using the new Frostbite 2 games engine. Which has proved to be popular with gamers worldwide.

Lenovo LePhone K2 Android Smartphone Announced

We have already seen a couple of new Android smartphones from Lenovo, and now we have another Android device which is headed to China, the Lenovo K2, which will comes with Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread.

The Lenovo LePhone K2 features a 4.3 inch IPS touchscreen display, processing is provided by a dual core 1.5GHz processor and it also features 1GB of RAM and 1GB of ROM.

Asus Transformer Prime Lands In the US December 8th

The Asus Transformer Prime has to be one of the most anticipated Android tablet releases this year, earlier today we saw a video of the 8 megapixel camera on the Transformer Prime in cation, and we have been hearing rumors that the device would go on sale in the US on the 8th of December.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus OTA Software Update Coming Today?

We heard earlier today that the volume bug software update for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus would be rolled out to the devices some time next week, the new came from Google, but now it would appear that the update may actually be released by Samsung as an OTA update some time today.

The news comes from the guys over at Clove, who have been informed by the UK distributors of the Galaxy Nexus that new devices wont come with the update pre-installed as they had previously heard, instead it will be rolled out as an OTA update when a new device is turned on.

Nokia Lumia 710 Promo Video Appears Online

When Nokia announced it new Windows Phone smartphones, there two two devices revealed, the Lumia 800 which went on sale recently and the Lumia 710, which we haven’t heard that much about as the device is scheduled to go on sale early next year.

Now Nokia has uploaded a promo video from the new Lumia 710 to their YouTube channel which you can see below, and the Windows Phone 7.5 Mango device features a 3.7 inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels.

Intel To Subsidize Ultrabooks, Prices May Drop By 10 Percent Next Year

The majority of the Ultrabook notebooks that have been released so far retail for around the $1,000 and above mark, and Intel want to get the price of these devices down, although manufacturers haven’t been able to make the devices as cheap as Intel wants them to.

According to a recent report by Digitimes, Intel intends to subsidize each Ultrabook by around $100, which would allow manufacturers to sell the devices for up to $100 cheaper, the subsidy will be provided as a marketing subsidy to manufacturers by Intel.

We have featured Yves Rossy on Geeky Gadgets previously, the last time we saw him he was performing aerial loops with his jetpack, and now we have another video of this crazy jet propelled flying man in action.

In the video below we can see Yves Rossy flying along side two L-39C Albatros jet plans from the Breitling Jet team, this is of course after he jumps out of a helicopter with his jetpack strapped to his back.

TouchPad Brings Siri Dictation To Your Mac (Video)

TouchPad is a VNC remote control app for iOS devices, and the app has just been updated, the latest version will let you use Apple’s Siri to dictate notes on your Mac or PC, and it will work with an iPhone 4S, and a Mac, plus it will also work with a PC running Windows or Linux.

Apple Wants New Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1N Banned In Germany

We heard this morning that the ban on the Australian Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 had been lifted, and now it looks like Apple is trying to ban the new revised Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1N in Germany.

A German court ruled a while back that the original Galaxy Tab 10.1 violated Apple’s patents, so Samsung changed the design, and released the tablet in Germany as the Galaxy Tab 10.1N, the photo top below shows the new Galaxy Tab 10.1N and the bottom photo shows the original Galaxy Tab 10.1.

Dragon Age Multiplayer Game Currently Under Development?

An insider source has revealed to the gaming website Kotaku, that a new multiplayer game might be coming to the series of Dragon Age games. The insider has reported that dragons will also be included in the new multiplayer version.

It’s still unknown though as to whether the new game will be an update to the existing Dragons Age 2 game, or a new stand alone a.k.a Dragon Age 3 game.

Apple’s iPhone 4S Siri Works With Your Cars Bluetooth (Video)

Here is something we didn’t know about Siri on the iPhone 4S, Siri will work with your Bluetooth in your car and can be used to set reminders, and basically anything you can normally do with Siri through your cars hands-free kit.

Star Wars AT-AT Cake

We have featured a number of different Star Wars cakes here on Geeky Gadgets over the years. But this one by BlackMarket Bakery in Irvine, CA, is fantastic and sure to go down well at any Star Wars party.

The AT-AT cake has been baked and created by Rachel Klemek, owner of the BlackMarket Bakery, and has been constructed using gingerbread to created the main panels of the AT-AT, and finished using icing to pick out the details.

Lenovo LePhone S760 Android Smartphone Announced

Yesterday we saw a couple of new Android tablets from Lenovo as well as the new LePhone S2, and now Lenovo has added another smartphone to their range with the launch of the LePhone S760.

The Lenovo LePhone S760 features a 3.7 inch AMLED touchscreen display and it will come with Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread, plus a single core 1GHz processor and 512MB of RAM.

Sonos Android App Receives Honeycomb Tablet Support

Android Honeycomb tablet users will be please to know that Sonos has today rolled out a new update for its Android application. Which brings with it support for Honeycomb tablets running Android 3.0 and above.

The Sonos Android application has always been compatible with tablets, but the new release brings with it an updated and much cleaner user interface which takes advantage of the 10.1 inch tablet screen.

Lenovo To Launch LeTV Smart TV Next Year

Lenovo is the latest company to announce that they are getting into the TV market, and they will be launching Internet connected TV in early 2012, called the Lenovo LeTV, although they haven’t released an specific information about the device.

It isn’t clear as yet whether Lenovo will be developing their own software for their Internet connected LeTV, they could possibly use Google’s TV platform for the device, although this has not been confirmed.

Vuzix Tac-Eye LT Monocular Display System Launched

Vuzix has launched their new Tac-Eye LT Monocular Display System this week. Which enables you to add a AMOLED display in front of one of your eyes.

Microsoft Sold Almost 1 Million Xbox Consoles Last Week

Microsoft has announced the sales figures for its Xbox console for last week, and it would appear that the black Friday shopping week was Microsoft’s most popular week as they have announced sales of nearly 1 million Xbox 360 consoles last week.

Microsoft sold a total of 960,000 Xbox 360 consoles in the US last week and a total of 750,000 Microsoft Kinects, with more than 800,000 Xbox 360 consoles sold within 24 hours.

PS3 System Software Update Version 4.00 Goes Live

After announcing they would roll out their new PS3 update this week. Sony has now met their deadline and released their PS3 system software update version 4.00.

The new update is in preparation for the launch of Sony’s new PlayStation Vita gaming console, and will prepare PlayStation 3 consoles to serve as a content management device. Enabling users to be able to copy their games, music, photos, and videos between their PS Vita and PlayStation 3. iTether App Removed From Apple App Store

Well that didn’t last long, yesterday we reported on a tethering application for the iPhone that had turned up in the iTunes App store, called iTether, and now Apple has removed the application form the app store.

The developers of the application, Tether, were contacted by Apple yesterday and told that the application would be removed from the app store, and Apple told them that the application would be a burden to the carrier networks.

Google Rolls Out New Google Bar Design (video)

Further to their on going re-design process across all their services. Google has today started rolling out a new design for their Google Bar which has now been redesigned to enable you to quickly and easily navigate between Google’s services.

Amazon Kindle Fire Update Released, Breaks Root

Amazon has released a new software update for their Kindle Fire tablet, the update is Kindle Fire 6.2, and according to the guys over at Gizmodo if you have rooted your Kindle Fire device this software update will break the root.

The Kindle Fire 6.2 Software update comes automatically when you are connected to WiFi, and once the update is done your device is no longer rooted, although this can be reversed and the device can be rooted again.

Security Researcher Shows Off Hidden Smartphone App Which Logs Your Data (Video)

Trevor Eckhart is a security researcher who has appeared a lot in the news over the last week, as he discovered hidden software form mobile phone monitoring company Carrier iQ on a number of smartphones.

The company Carrier IQ had been virtually unheard of until Trevor discovered their software on his device, after posting the information online the company threatened him with legal action, luckily the Electronic Frontier Foundation helped him out, and Carrier IQ backed down, and now we have a video from Trevor which shows exactly what this software does.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Ban Removed In Australia

Back in October, an Australian court decided to ban the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 from going on sale in the country, after Apple had sued Samsung in Australia claiming the tablet infringed on Apple’s patents.

The Galaxy Tab 10.1 was also banned in Germany, and Samsung released a revised version of the device in Germany, and now it would appear that the original Galaxy Tab 10.1 will finally go on sale in Australia, as the Federal court in Australia has lifted the original ban.

Samsung Announces Dual Core Exynos 5250 2GHz Processor

Samsung has announced their latest Exynos processor, the Exynos 5250, which is Samsung’s first dual core processor clocked at 2GHz, and the chip is based on ARM’s Cortex A15 architecture, which is reported to be 40 percent faster than the current Cortex A9.

The Samsung Exynos 5250 will support stereoscopic 3D displays and also displays with a WQXGA resolution which is 2560 x 1600 pixels, so we can expect to see this new processor in some tablets from Samsung.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus Gets Taken Apart

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus hasn’t gone on sale in the US as yet, but that hasn’t stopped the guys from iFixit getting their hands on one, and as usual they have taken the device apart to see what is hidden inside.

According to the iFixit guys the Galaxy Nexus was a bit difficult to get inside, and replacement of the glass on the device is going to be expensive as it is fused to the AMOLED display and the handsets frame.
