Thecus has just announced the N4100EVO, the first 4-bay NAS device powered by a Cavium dual-core processor. The unit supports hardward RAID and is equipped with a dedicated XOR engine to lighten the load of building RAID and free up the CPU to keep your NAS running fast. There is also RAID Accelerator for building RAID quicker. The Thecus N4100EVO has four SATA hard drive bays and two USB Host ports for connecting external storage devices. It has 256MB of RAM, and has dual 10/100/1000 BASE-TX Auto MDI/MDI-X LAN ports. The NAS includes built-in FTP/SFTP server, iTunes server and TimeMachine support, Piczza Web Server, uPnP and DLNA media server, Surveillance module, printer server, support for Rsync as well as support for iSCSI and Download Manager. It comes with the Acronis True Image software for data backup and recovery. Thecus N4100EVO has a 2-inch LCD screen for more convenient administration. Related Posts

TRENDnet launches the new TPL-307E, a compact 200Mbps Powerline Adapter with Bonus Plug. The adapter works with any electrical outlet to create a secure, high-speed network. It comes with a built-in electrical outlet, and has embedded power saving technology, and an advanced electrical noise filter which boosts performance by reducing background electrical signal interference. It features advanced 128-bit AES encryption to secure the network.
The TPL-307E is available in kit, model TPL-307E2K, which comes with two TPL-307E adapters. The adapters connect automatically to each other over a secure encrypted signal and up to 6 Powerline adapters and be connected to create a network in your home without running new cabling. The TPL-307E adapter is compliant with IEEE1901 and HomePlug AV standards. It provides a 10/100Mbps Auto-MDIX Fast Ethernet port and a electrical power outlet. The TRENDnet TPL-307E Poweline adapter is priced at $69, and the kit TPL-307E2K costs $129.99. There are US plug, Euro plug and French Euro plug versions.

Motorola is launching in China the XT928 Android smartphone for China Telecom. Coming in this December, the XT928 is the King of Multimedia according to Motorola. It features a 4.6-inch 1280×720 HD touchscreen, a 13 Megapixel camera with 1080p Full HD video recording, and Dolby Digital Plus audio technology, delivering a “mobile multimedia you’ve never experienced it before”.
The Motorola XT928 is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor with 1GB of RAM and runs Android 2.3 operating system. The phone’s 13 Megapixel main camera feature Wide Dynamic Range which enhances photos by filtering bright and dark areas to accurately capture scenes with a wide range of light. It has also a 1.3 Megapixel front camera for video chat. The XT928 supports Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity and works with China Telecom’s CDMA EVDO 3G network.

Gigabyte adds a new models to its Booktop line, the 11.6-inch T1132 with a convertiable design.
