Iomega StorCenter ix2 Network Storage for Business Posted: 16 Jan 2012 03:15 AM PST Iomega announced its new StorCenter ix2 network storage device based on enterprise-class EMC storage technology. Available in multiple configurations, the ix2 provides up to 6TB of network storage for content sharing, data protection as well as as cloud computing and video surveillance applications at small businesses, work groups, remote offices and distributed enterprises. The two-bay storage device supports RAID 1 (mirrored) data protection, and supports automatic setup of Iomega QuikProtect backup software for simplified PC and Mac computer backups. It includes out-of-the-box video surveillance capabilities supporting up to five IP network cameras by Axis, Bosch or Panasonic. IP security cameras can capture and store video (in MPEG4 format) directly to the StorCenter ix2 without the need of a dedicated PC, allowing users fast playback of video surveillance footage and live-view camera support. The StorCenter ix2 supports iSCSI target for block-level access for efficient storage utilization, and easy device-to-device data replication with two Iomega StorCenter units. It is VMware and XenServer certified for virtual desktop implementations. For easy remote access, the device features Iomega Personal Cloud for protect, share and access your data from anywhere in the world and Iomega Link for iOS devices for a convenient remote iPhone and iPad connection to your data. Verizon LG Spectrum LTE 4G Smartphone with HD IPS Touchscreen Posted: 16 Jan 2012 02:51 AM PST During the CES 2012, Verizon Wireless showed the upcoming LG Spectrum LTE 4G smartphone with a 4.5-inch Ture HD IPS touchscreen with 1280×720 and 329ppi screen density. The new phone supports Verizon’s LTE 4G mobile network and gives users access to the ESPN ScoreCenter application for ScoreCenter stats, images and videos in 720p HD. Its screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. The Spectrum is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor and runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread (Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade available the first half of 2012). It features a 8 Megapixel rear-facing camera with 1080p Full HD video recording, a 1.3 Megapixel front-facing camera, Bluetooth 3.0, GPS and WiFi connectivity with Mobile Hotspot capability. The 4G phone supports SmartShare for sharing media wirelessly to DLNA-enabled devices and HDMI mirroring via MHL (Mobile High-Definition Link). It also comes with SmartMovie HD app for creating and editing HD videos and Netflix app for movie streaming. The LG Spectrum includes also support for Dolby Digital Plus, which is capable of streaming up to 7.1 channels of surround sound through home entertainment systems. Velocity introduced at the CES 2012 its Shine, a HD pocket projector capable of 720p. The affordable, compact device is based on DLP display technology and is able to project 1280×768 WXGA images with 2,000:1 contrast ratio and 300 lumens of brightness with LED RGB illumination. It is 3D-ready.
The Shine has a throw ratio of 1.4:1 for creating large images in a small room. It provides mini HDMI input, USB port, analog audio input, stereo audio output. The pico projector has built-in media playback functionality allowing users to show images, videos and documents easily without a PC. The pocket device measures just 4-inch on its longest side and weighs just 9oz, making it ideal for road warriors or frequent travelers. Coming in Q2 2012, the Velocity Micro Shine will cost about $400.

These cameras provid Four-Way Protection. The XP150 and XP100 are Waterproof to 33ft (10M) and Shockproof to 6.5 ft (2M) while the XP50 is Waterproof to 16.5ft (5M) and Shockproof to 5 ft (1.5M). With ergonomical design, these cameras are housed in a metal uni-body chassis for durabilty and feature a double locking door that keeps the cameras watertight and seals and protects the battery and memory card slots, along with the USB and micro-HD ports. Other features include 360 Motion Panorama Mode, Face Detection, Scene Recognition Auto (SR AUTO), Movie Editing Mode, Blog Mode and Tracking Auto Focus (AF). They can record 10800p Full HD video at 30fps. The FinePix XP150 will be available in March 2012 for $279.95 in black and orange colors (blue, orange, silver and green color options will be available in other markets).
