ViewSonic, other than tablets, is also launching Android-powered smartphone, the ViewPhone 3 (aka V350) that runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS with a custom UI. What makes the phone stands out from the crowd of Android smartphone is its dual-SIM capability, allowing users to separate work and personal calls without owning two mobile phones. The phone is powered by an ARM 800MHz processor and 512MB of RAM. The ViewPhone 3 comes with a 3.5-inch HVGA 320×480 touchscreen, a 5 Megapixel camera and WiFi 802.11b/g/b connectivity. Sony revealed its new SS-AR2 loudspeaker at the CES 2012 as the follow-up to the SS-AR1 launched last year. To create beautiful sound, the SS-AR2 features a final front cabinet baffle laminated to a thickness 40 mm from hand-selected maple cultivated from Japan’s northern island of Hokkaido. The SS-AR2, a 4-unit, 3-way floor-standing vented box speaker system, sports a 25 mm (one inch) soft dome, a 130 mm (five inch) sliced-paper cone and a 165 mm (six and a half inches) aluminum cone (double-drive system), supporting a maximum input power of 100 watts with frequency response from 42 Hz to 60kHz. Its bass reflex port is optimally positioned to ensure the twin woofers drive accurately and with synchronous timing, controlling back radiation and to help eliminate sound distortion. JVC announced at the CES 2012 the GY-HMQ10, the world’s first handheld 4K camcorder that records 3840×2160 Quad Full High Definition (QFHD) video images, which is four times the resolution of high definition TV. The camcorder is powered by JVC’s Falconbrid large-scale integration (LSI) chip for high-speed signal processing and sports a 1/2-inch 8.3 Megapixel CMOS imager. The Falconbrid LSI chip takes raw image data from the CMOS sensor and dematrixes (deBayers) it in real time, delivering real-time 3840×2160 footage at 24p, 50p, or 60p. The JVC GY-HMQ10 comes equipped with a F.28 10x zoom lens with optical image stabilizer, a color viewfinder and a 3.5-inch LCD touchscreen display with an intuitive user interface. JVC’s 4K camcorder can also record 1080i or 1080/60p Full HD videos. It also includes trimming feature that allows users to crop an HD image from a 4K frame, directly on the camera using the touch panel LCD monitor. The handheld camcorder features also JVC’s Focus Assist, as well as manual and auto control of focus, iris, gain, shutter, gamma, color matrix, and white balance. Using MPEG-4 technology and a variable bit rate H.264 codec operating at up to 144 Mbps, the GY-HMQ10 records up to two hours of 4K video to economical SDHC or SDXC memory cards. It is capable of live 4K output via four HDMI terminals. The JVC GY-HMQ10 has a compact and lightweight body and comes with built-in stereo mic for ambient sound pickup. Targeted at value-oriented consumers, the phone will be available for just $49.99 with a two-year contrast. The slim Burst has a 4-inch Super AMOLED 800×480 touchscreen and 16GB internal memory. The Pantech Burst packs a 5 Megapixel camera with LED flash and 720p HD video recording, a 2 Megapixel front camera, Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity. It is powered bya 1.2GHz dual-core processor and runs Android 2.3.5 operating system. The Burst supports LTE 4G as well as HSPA+ mobile networks.

Other than the new SL-series ultra zoom bridge cameras, FujiFilm has also designed the FinePix S4500, S4400, S4300 and S4200 “for users who want maximum reach without compromising image quality or convenience”. With similar features and form factor, the S-series lacks the dual zoom control for flexible shooting feature and TTL hotshoe found on the SL models. The S4500, S4400, S4300 and S4200 all sport 14 Megapixel CCD image sensor, a 200,000 dots Electronic Viewfinder (EVF) and a 3-inch LCD display. While the SL models use rechargeable Li-ion battery, the S models use 4 AA batteries which is convenient for on-the-go digital camera users.
FujiFilm’s S4500, S4400, S4300 and S4200 feature 30x, 28x, 26x and 24x Fujinon optical zoom lens with 23mm wide angle respectively. These long zoom cameras feature 64-6400 ISO sensitivity, 2cm Super Macro Mode, CCD Shift image stabilization, SR AUTO mode, Tracking Auto Focus, i-Flash Intelligent Flash, high-speed continuous shooting at up to 8fps and full manual controls. The S4500, S4400, S4300 and S4200 are capable of 720p HD video recording at 30fps and offers HDMI output for connecting the camera to an HDTV for instant playback. FujiFilm brings the FinePix Z110 compact, stylish digital camera as the successor to the FinePix Z90. Though look like FinePix Z1000EXR, the Z110 doesn’t have FujiFilm’s EXR CMOS image sensor, but a 14 Megapixel CCD sensor. It sports a Fujinon 5x optical zoom lens and a 2.7-inch LCD screen.
The FinePix Z110 has an all-metal stylish design and comes in six colors – pink, purple, jade, blue, white and black. It features Digital Image Stabilization, ISO 100-3200, Motion Panorama mode, Face Detection, Night Out mode that takes clear pictures in low-light situation, and SR AUTO mode. The compact shooter also has a Frame Assist Mirror that’s perfectly curved to show the entirety of a scene and assist composition when the camera’s held at arm’s length for shooting a self-portrait or group shot. Shuttle announced in Europe its new XPC XH61, a slim mini-PC barebone that measures just 7cm high. The compact PC is Sandy Bridge-ready with Intel H61 Express mainboard pre-installed supporting Intel’s 2nd gen Core i3/i5/i7 processor with LGA1155 socket and a TDP of max 65 W. It has two memory slots supporting up to 16GB of DDR3 memory.
The barebone provides one bay for slimline optical drive with 12.7mm height and a 2.5-inch hard drive bay for 9.5mm height drives. There are pre-installed SATA cables and mounting screws. It features 7.1 HD audio, Gigabit LAN port, 6 USB 2.0 ports, HDMI and D-Sub output as well as Kensington Lock. The XH61 comes with external 90W power unit for noiseless power supply. Sony Europe announced the new Micro Vauly MACH, the first flash drive from Sony to use SuperSpeed USB 3.0 technology for enhanced performance. The new drive is available in 8GB, 16GB, 32GB and 64GB capacities and delivers up to 120MB/s read and 90MB/s write speeds.
The Micro Vault MACH has a sleek, solid aluminium body built to withstand day-to-day knocks, and a retractable USB connector with a click mechanism for extra protection. There is LED indicator to give visual confirmation of data transfers when the drive is in use. The USB 3.0 drive is backward compatible with USB 2.0. Downloadable software for Micro Vault MACH series includes File Rescue for recovering important files and the x – Pict Story for creating automated photo presentation. Sony will launch the Micro Vault MACH in January.

Heading to AT&T, the Skyrocket HD supports the carrier’s 4G LTE mobile network for high-speed data.
The Galaxy S II Skyrocket HD is powered by 1.5GHz dual-core processor and runs Android 2.3. It features a 8 Megapixel auto focu camera with LED flash, and front-facing camera for video call. It combines a DVD burner, a 2.5-inch 500GB hard drive and SD card as well as USB hub into a single compact device. The device has three USB 2.0 ports. The VMUltra is probably the only thing mobile workers need to bring along with their notebooks. It has full plug-and-play support. Velocity Micro is planning to release the device later this year.
