Transcend JetFlash 780 USB 3.0 Flash Drive Posted: 26 Jan 2012 02:18 AM PST Transcend is launching its new JetFlash 780 USB 3.0 flash drive featuring a sophisticated classic checkerboard design. The new drive is full compatible with SuperSpeed USB 3.0 high-speed interface and USB 2.0. Using USB 3.0 with 5Gbps bandwidth, the JetFlash drive offers up to 140MB/s read and 40MB/s write speeds. Available in 8GB and 16GB capacities, the JetFlash 780 will be released first in Taiwan, with a price tag of NTD$880 for 8GB and NTD$1380 for 16GB. It measures 70mm x 21mm x 8.1mm and weighs 7g. Klipsch RoomGroove Air, Stadium and Console AirPlay Speaker Systems Posted: 26 Jan 2012 01:45 AM PST Klipsch Stadium Klipsch introduces three new AirPlay-enabled speaker systems, the RoomGroove Air, Stadium and Console. All three solutions support wireless network and AirPlay protocol for wireless streaming of high-quality audio from iPhone, iPod touch and iPad as well as from iTunes running a Mac or PC. The RoomGroove Air features dual 1-inch tweeters with Round Tractrix horns and 2.5-inch woofers, housed in a tuned port enclosure, to deliver “sonic clarity and unrivalled bass output”. The Stadium is a 2.1-channel tabletop sound system with dual 1-inch, horn-loaded tweeters, 3-inch midrange woofers and dual 5.25-inch subwoofer. It is housed in brushed aluminum cabinetry with soft-touch accents. Klipsch Console Finally, the Console is not just a multifunctional 2.1 audio system but a furniture centerpiece boasting cutting edge design and engineering. It sports dual 90° x 60° Tractrix Horns with 1.75-inch titanium dome, high-compression drivers featuring Linear Travel Suspension (LTS), 10-inch machine-spun Cerametallic woofers with folded cones and huge motor structures, and 12-inch non-resonant, woven fiberglass subwoofer drivers with large, four-layer, aluminum-wound voice coils. Pentax Optio VS20 Digital Camera with Vertical Shutter Button Posted: 25 Jan 2012 10:05 PM PST Pentax has just announced in the US its all-new Optio VS20, a long zoom digital camera with a vertical shutter-release button. As the first point-and-shooter digicam to get the a second vertical shutter-release button, its second shutter button comes with zoom lever for effortless portrait oriented shooting. The VS20 is equipped with a 16 Megapixel CCD image sensor, a high-power 20X optical zoom lens and a 3-inch large LCD display. The Optio VS20 features mechanical sensor shift Shake Reduction for stabilized, blur-free images even in low lighting; Auto Picture mode that choose best camera settings automatically; 3-point autofocus with 1 cm super macro; 13 scene modes and Handheld Night Snap function; Face Recognition with Face Recall function that prioritizes a pre-registered face when optimizing focus and exposure settings; and Digital Panorama mode. In addition to the sensor-shift Shake Reduction (SR) mechanism, the slim long-zoom camera also includes Digital SR mode and Movie SR mode for clear, blur-free images, and the Digital Level function that ensures that shots are properly level to the horizon. WOWee ONE VUE Pico Projector Posted: 25 Jan 2012 09:33 PM PST WOWee introduces another pocket projector, the ONE VUE with HDMI connectivity. The pico projector delivers 848×480 resolution widescreen images with 15 lumens brightness, 60Hz refresh rate and over 5000:1 contrast ratio. It is capable of producing up to 200-inch images.   The ONE VUE offers HDMI port, meaning it can connects to HDMI-equipped devices easily. It can connnect to devices with HDMI connection and support for video mirroring as well as thos with HDMI port for MHL-HDMI adapter supporting 480p video out. The projector also works with iPhone, iPod and iPad using the included Apple direct connect component cable. If you want to pair the ONE VUE with VGA source, you have to get the optional SHOWWX VGA Dock Adapter. Datamation Power Pad 16 USB Charger powers 16 iPads at the same time Posted: 25 Jan 2012 09:02 PM PST A company called Datamation Systems introduces the Power Pad 16 (model DS-IP-PP16), a 16-port professional USB charging station capable of charging up to 16 iPads at the same time. According to the company, the charging station works with most USB-powered devices including other iOS devices and smartphones, “virtually any that would charge using a standard Apple USB-connected AC adapter”, but is not a universal USB charger. Datamation is going to release a universal version. The Power Pad 16 has been used in retail environments where charging large numbers of iPads and other Apple devices has to be reliable and fast in the least possible space. Service depots report it is a perfect tool to eliminate the jumble of wires and chargers.
