NEC NP-PX750U Professional Installation Projector Posted: 12 Jul 2011 02:08 AM PDT NEC brings a new professional installation projector, the PNP-PX750U designed for large venues requiring exceptional brightness, such as houses of worship, higher education, corporate and retail environments where there is high ambient light or the need for a larger screen size. The new projector is the first model in NEC's projector line to offer Open Pluggable Specification (OPS), which is the first industry-wide standardization in option slots, including an HD/SD-SDI and single board computer (SBC), to simplify installation, use and maintenance while offering input flexibility. Utilizing 1-chip DLP technology, the NP-PX750U features 1900×1200 WUXGA resolution, 7500 lumens brightness with dual lamps, 2100:1 contrast ratio, and Integrated Device Technology HQV high-performance video processing and scaling system for superior image quality. The projector offers HDMI, DisplayPort, D-sub and S-video inputs. It features center lens design for ease in retrofitting existing installations and an electronic lens shutter. The projector’s stacking correction capability allows up to four projectors to be stacked vertically or horizontally to boost the image brightness up to 30,000 lumens. The NEC PX750U supports Windows Network Projector, Windows Remote Desktop, Windows Network Drive and Media Connection functions. It also features DICOM similation, cornerstone correction, geometric correction, edge blending technology, PIP/side-by-side and USB Viewer function that allows users to present without the use of a computer by displaying images stored as .jpgs from an USB storage device. Acer announced two new pico projectors based on DLP technology, the C110 and the C112. Both models utilizes LED lamp technology with up to 20,000 hours of lamp life offering enhanced image quality. Ideal for mobile lifestyle, the C110 and C112 connects to laptop for power and input source via a single USB cable, meaning no power adapter, no tangle of cables and no issues with plugs. The Acer C110 and C112 feature QVGA 854×480 resolution, 1000:1 contrast ratio and the capability to deliver up to 100-inch images. The C112 comes with an optional external battery that lasts two hours making it a true mobile companion. The C112 also sets you free from your notebook featuring USB Slide Show and USB multimedia functions for direct playback of media files stored on USB storage devices. The Acer C110 measures 110 x 85 x 25mm and weighs 175g while the C112 measures 137×91.5 mm and weighs 220g. Logitech’s B990, B910, B905 and Pro 9000 for Business are HD webcams optimized for Microsoft Lync unified communications platform. According to the company, these webcams are also ready to work with Microsoft Office 365.
Both the Logitech B990 and B910 feature a 5 Megapixel sensor for 720p HD video recording and streaming at 30fps, Carl Zeiss glass lens, and built-in dual microphone. The B990 adds H.264 video compression. With a 2 Megapixel sensor, the B905 (business version of the C905) and Webcam Pro 9000 supports up to 1600×1200 video capture and up to 30fps streaming at 720p resolution. Both of them have built-in microphone with RightSound technology. All these Logitech webcams provide 24-bit true color depth.

Sony Ericsson’s upcoming Xperia ray is a new Android smartphone to be released in Q3 2011. The phone measures 9.4mm thin and has a stylish aluminum frame. The sleek smartphone is equipped with a 8.1 Megapixel camera with Exmor R for mobile image sensor. The camera supports face detection, auto focus and 720p HD video recording.
The Xperia ray features a 3.3-inch 854×480 capacitive multitouch Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine, FM radio, Bluetooth, GPS/AGPS support, DLNA support and WiFi connectivity. The phone supports microSD/SDHC up to 32GB and comes with a 4GB card. The ray will be available in black, gold, white and pink. It supports quad-band GSM/EDGE and UMTS/HSPA 3G networks.

Sony Ericsson Xperia active Android Smartphone for Active Lifestyle Posted: 11 Jul 2011 06:41 AM PDT Sony Ericsson is launching in Q3 the new Xperia active compact smartphone designed for consumers with an active lifestyle. The phone comes pre-loaded with sports apps that enable consumers to easily track their fitness levels. Users can set their ideal training route using the built-in GPS, Barometer and Compass. On-screen heart rate and pulse can be monitored in realtime (enabled by ANT+ wireless networking technology), while the iMapMyFitness app can monitor day to day performance. It even comes with an arm case for use during a workout.
The Android-powered Xperia active features a 3-inch 320×480 Reality Display touchscreen with Mobile BRAVIA Engine; a 5 Megapixel camera with 720p HD video recording, LED flash, and auto focus; FM radio with RDS, microSD card slot, Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity. The phone is powered by a 1Ghz processor and runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS. It is dust and water resistant and can be kept under 1m of water for 30 minutes. The Xperia active supports quad-band GSM/EDGE and HSPA/UMTS 3G networks. It comes in orange band with black back cover and white band with black back cover. For easy dictating, the DR-2200 and DR-2300 feature strategically placed slide switch and the DR-1200 comes with a push button. They feature a durable trackball for more intuitive, one-handed operation, and a new low-noise directional microphone that reduces extraneous sounds and unwanted background noise for high-quality sound recording. Olympus’ new ergonomic recorders come with built-in speaker for acoustic playback, a triple-color LED screen current recording status and a new trackball allows users to navigate freely on the PC or Mac without having to utilize the computer’s mouse. The DR-2300 includes also an interface to barcode module. The Olympus Directrec DR-1200, DR-2200 and DR-2300 will be available in August.
