Kingston announced the new DataTraveler 6000 (GT6000) USB flash drive for enterprises and government organizations that offers military-grade data protection. The drive protects sensitive data with Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 140-2 Level 3 Validation and 100-percent encryption. It utilizes patented Secured by Spyrus technology which supports 256-bit AES hardware-based encryption using XTS block cipher mode; military-grade elliptic curve cryptography (ECC), which is recommended by the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA) as part of its Suite B set of cryptographic algorithms.
User of DT6000 are required to set a password with a minimum of three of the four characteristics (lowercase, uppercase, characters and numbers) to prevent unauthorized access, and the drive will lock down after 10 intrusion attempts and encryption key is destroyed. The military-grade DataTraveler comes in 2GB, 4GB, 8GB and 16GB capacities and offers up to 11MB/s read and 5MB/s write speeds. IThe waterproof USB drive has a ruggedized titanium-coated stainless steel casing and has Tamper-Proof Physical Security Barrier. Models:
