| Innovative Nozzle Gun Cleans Anything With Bubbles Posted: 15 Nov 2011 11:09 AM PST The title of this post might not inspire much enthusiasm, but hold on a moment. Seen below is a ultrasonic nozzle device that supposedly cleans objects better using bubbles. Don't be confused, because while it may look like a DIY hairdryer, it really is a cutting edge gadget that could impact whole industries. The people responsible for it are Dr. Peter Berkin and Prof. Tim Leighton (the folks gazing intently at a harmless mug) from the University of Southampton. The gadget itself is called the Southampton for reasons seemingly obvious.

CardMunch will take a photograph of a business card you have been given and transform it in to a digital text adding the contact to your address book contacts, and then adding them as connections on LinkedIn.

| Samsung Galaxy Nexus Delayed For The UK? Posted: 15 Nov 2011 07:34 AM PST The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is due to go on sale here in the UK this Thursday, the 17th of November, but now two different retailers are reporting that the Samsung Galaxy Nexus wont arrive until the 22nd or 23rd of November. UK retailer Clove posted on their blog earlier that the Samsung Galaxy Nexus wont be available with them until the 23rd of November, and now UK mobile operator Three has announced on Twitter that they wont have the Galaxy Nexus available until the 22nd of November.

| Lego Film Production Confirmed By Warner Bros. Posted: 15 Nov 2011 07:16 AM PST If you are a fan of everything Lego you will be please to know that Warner Bros. have confirmed production of a CGI/live-action hybrid, movie which is currently in the early process of being made. But full time production of the new movie could start as early as next week now that a grant has been awarded by Australian state New South Wales for the movie to be filmed there. The new Lego movie is set to be written and directed by US duo Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, whose other work includes : Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, and are expected to joining production after their latest project 21 Jump Street is launched in March.

| iTunes Match Wont Launch In The UK Until 2012? Posted: 15 Nov 2011 07:09 AM PST Apple’s iTunes Match service was launched in the US yesterday, and we still don’t have any official confirmation from Apple on when the service will launch in the UK, Europe and other countries around the world. When Apple discussed the iTunes Match service at the iPhone 4S event last month, they said it would launch in the US by the end of October, the service was officially launched yesterday the 14th of November.

The Xperia Arc S comes with Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread and features a 4.2 inch touchscreen display with an 854 x 480 pixel resolution, processing is in the form of a single core 1.4GHz processor.

| Google’s Android Reaches 52 Percent For Smartphone Sales Posted: 15 Nov 2011 06:24 AM PST Research firm Gartner has release its latest smartphone data, and it would appear that Google’s share of the smartphone market is increasing significantly, as according to the report, Google’s Android OS now makes up 52 percent of the smartphone market for quarter three of 2011. In the same period in 2010, Google’s Android OS had a 25.3 percent share of the smartphone market, so it has basically doubled over the last 12 months.

| Working 1977 Apple II Computer Sold For $6,100 On eBay Posted: 15 Nov 2011 06:05 AM PST If you have any original old computers sitting in your attic collecting dust it might be time to dust them off. As an original un modified Apple II system from back in 1977 has just sold on eBay for $6,100. The Apple II was a major technological advancement over its predecessor and was largely designed by Steve Wozniak. The complete unit has a serial number of #2812, and was never upgraded to display six colours or received the more useful Applesoft ROMs in 1979.

| Third Party Android Apps Installed On Amazon Kindle Fire Posted: 15 Nov 2011 05:48 AM PST According to the guys over at Mashable, the new Amazon Kindle Fire will let you install third part applications on the device, although Amazon said that the Kindle Fire wouldn’t support the Android Market, instead it would support Amazon’s own Android appstore. Christina Warren from Mashable was able to install a third part app from GetJar on the Kindle Fire, and the app that was used to test this was the Nook app for Android.

| HzO Nanotechnology Brings Waterproofing To Smartphones (Video) Posted: 15 Nov 2011 04:51 AM PST A company called HzO has developed a new technology which could be used in future smartphones and other electronic devices to make them waterproof, called HzO Technology. As you will see in the video below, a Samsung Galaxy S II smartphone has been treated with the HzO Technology, which is apparently a ‘nano-scale’ film barrier that bonds to the exterior and interior of the device, making it waterproof.

| Atmel maXStylus Allows Simultaneous Touch and Stylus Operation (video) Posted: 15 Nov 2011 04:37 AM PST A new stylus has been unveiled this week by Atmel called the maXStylus which has been designed to revolutionise the way we use tablet stylus devices with touch.The maXStylus, has been created to enable users to easily perform touch gestures with one hand, while using the stylus to writing and draw in the other. The maXStylus stylus accomplishes this by using a multiSense functionality via a single indium tin oxide (ITO) sensor. | LG Optimus 3D Android 2.3 Gingerbread Update Coming 21st November Posted: 15 Nov 2011 04:20 AM PST We heard recently that LG would be releasing the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update for the LG Optimus 3D, and now LG has confirmed that the update will start rolling out from the 21st of November. It looks like users in Europe will start getting the update from the 21st of November, and it will be rolled out to other countries from that date until the end of the year, although as yet there are no specific roll out dates per country.

| Google Allows Wi-Fi Users To Opt Out Of Geolocation Database Posted: 15 Nov 2011 04:17 AM PST This week Google has announced a way for Wi-Fi user to be able to opt out of Google geolocation database. The process is fairly simply if you can change the name of your Wi-Fi network. Simply add ‘ _nomap’ to the end. For example if your Wi-Fi network is called “geekygadgets” it will become ”geekygadgets_nomap”.

| Sony Ericsson Confirms Ice Cream Sandwich Update Headed To 2011 Smartphones Posted: 15 Nov 2011 03:54 AM PST We have heard in the past from Sony Ericsson that the company would be releasing the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich to certain devices in their Xperia range, and now Sony Ericsson has provided more details on which device will receive the update. It would appear that the devices that will get the Android 4.0 update include the Xperia Arc, Xperia Arc S, Xperia Play, Xperia Neo and Neo V, Xperia Mini and Mini Pro, Xperia pro, Xperia Active and Xperia Ray, plus the Sony Ericsson Live Walkman.

| Samsung Galaxy Note Headed To O2 UK Posted: 15 Nov 2011 03:38 AM PST The Samsung Galaxy Note went on sale here in the UK, the device is available SIM free from a number of retailers and now it is headed to UK mobile carrier O2, although there are no details as yet on how much O2 will charge for the device. The Samsung Galaxy Note is described as a device which is a cross between a smartphone and a tablet, and it features a massive 5.3 inch Super AMOLED Plus display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels.

| Minecraft Finally Finished, Goes Gold This Friday Posted: 15 Nov 2011 03:27 AM PST Well its finally happened, Minecraft is now finally finished and will be going to a Gold release version at the end of the week. Minecraft’s creator Markus “Notch” PerssonTweeted the confirmation that the game was now ready for a Gold release simply saying : ”So, yes, Minecraft has gone gold. Minecraft has been available to play online since May 17 2009 in a development stage and transformed into a beta version on December 20, 2010 and will now go Gold on Friday.

| Stolen Razer Blade Gaming Laptop Prototypes Will Not Effect Launch Date Say Razer Posted: 15 Nov 2011 03:10 AM PST Razer has revealed earlier this month that two of its Razer Blade gaming laptop prototypes were stolen from its premises on November 5th. The Razer Blade is a new gaming laptop Razer is currently developing and is marketed as the "world's first true gaming laptop”. The stolen prototypes weren’t fully functional and one was undergoing a weekend-long thermal test, but Razer say the theft shouldn’t have any effect on the planned launched date of the Razer Blade laptop.

| 65 Inch Android Honeycomb Tablet (Video) Posted: 15 Nov 2011 03:10 AM PST We have already seen a 23 inch Android tablet, and now we have an even larger one, the 65 inch Android Honeycomb tablet which was created by Turkish company Ardic Technology. As you can see from the video below, an Android Honeycomb tablet is running through a 65 inch Full HD TV with a 1920 x 1080 resolution, where as standard honeycomb tablets run at a 1280 x 800 resolution.

| Tesla Coil Musical Hat Created By MIT Student (video) Posted: 15 Nov 2011 02:54 AM PST For this years Halloween MIT student Tyler Christensen thought he would make something a little different to wear and opted for a Tesla Coil Musical Hat. | BlackBerry Curve 9380, BlackBerry 7 OS Smartphone Announced Posted: 15 Nov 2011 01:48 AM PST As well as announcing the BlackBerry Bold 9790, RIM has announced another new BlackBerry device which will come with BlackBerry OS 7, the BlackBerry Curve 9380, which is a touchscreen device without a QWERTY keyboard. The BlackBerry Curve 9380 comes with 3.2 inch touchscreen display which RIM describes as ‘high resolution’ although no details on the actual screen resolution were revealed in the press release.

| BlackBerry Bold 9790 Gets Official Posted: 15 Nov 2011 01:38 AM PST RIM has announced its latest BlackBerry smartphone, the BlackBerry Bold 9790 which we saw a leaked photo of recently, the device comes with BlackBerry 7 OS and features a 1GHz processor and a 2.44 inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 360 x 480 pixels. There is also 8GB of built in storage, plus a microSD card slot which can take up to 32GB cards, plus a rear facing five megapixel camera for shooting photos and video, and it also comes with a QWERTY keyboard.

| Samsung Galaxy Nexus Goes Up For Pre-Order With Three UK Posted: 15 Nov 2011 01:24 AM PST The Samsung Galaxy Nexus will go on sale in the UK this Thursday, the 17th of November, and now UK mobile operator Three has put the device up for pre-order, and it is available on both their monthly plans and also their pay as you go plans. Three are offering the Samsung Galaxy Nexus for free on a new 24 month contract which costs £40 a month, they are also offering the device on the pay as you go plan for £499.99 up front.

| Apple’s Siri Cracked To Run On Any Device Posted: 15 Nov 2011 01:05 AM PST Apple’s Siri has already been ported to a number of Apple devices, which include the iPhone 4, iPad and the iPhone 3GS, but now it would appear that some developers from Applidium have cracked Siri, which means that Siri could possibly run on any device. The guys have Applidium have managed to get Siri to recognize voice commands from any device, which could mean that even Android devices would be able to use it, although at the moment this wont happen as an iPhone 4S UDID is required for Siri to recognize the device.

| Andoid 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich Source Code Released Posted: 15 Nov 2011 12:42 AM PST Google has released the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich source code through the Android Open Source Project (ASOP), the release comes ahead of the first Ice Cream Sandwich device, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus which launches on the 17th of November. Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is designed to run on both tablets and smartphones, and this is the first time that Google has released an open source version of Android for tablets, as they didn’t release Android 3.0 Honeycomb as open source.

| Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE Lands On AT&T November 20th Posted: 15 Nov 2011 12:09 AM PST AT&T has announced that they will be selling the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE from the 20th of November, the device comes with a 8.9 inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, plus Android 3.2 Honeycomb. Other specifications on the Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE include, 4G LTE, a dual core 1GHz processor, up front there is a 2 megapixel camera, on the back there is a 3.2 megapixel camera with an LED flash.

| BlackBerry London, RIM’s First BBX OS Smartphone Leaked Posted: 15 Nov 2011 12:03 AM PST The guys over at the Verge have obtained a photo and some details of a new BlackBerry smartphone from RIM, which is reported to be the first BlackBerry device that will come with RIM’s new BBX OS, the BlackBerry London. The BlackBerry London is reported to come with the new BBX OS and it will feature a dual core TI OMAP 1.5GHz processor, 1GB of RAM and 16GB of built in storage, and a large touchscreen display, as you can see from the photo there is no physical keyboard.

The news comes from Digitimes who are reporting that the device could go on sale next March, and components for the device are now being made and shipped to manufacturers.

| Nintendo 3DS on Course to Beat DS Sales for First Year Posted: 14 Nov 2011 01:37 PM PST I have always though the sales of the Nintendo 3DS were pretty bad since that is generally all I have heard about it. I have always blamed that on the lack of quality games. The game library for the 3DS is very small, but it is growing with some very nice titles on the market right now.
