Posted: 16 Nov 2011 08:38 AM PST Its been revealed today by the Wall Street Journal that Sony maybe considering a web-based alternative to the tradition cable based TV service, with an aim to compete with the cable and satellite operators that currently dominate pay TV viewing. Sources have revealed to the WSJ that Sony has already approached several big media companies to negotiate the rights to offer their TV channels over the Web in the U.S. including : News Corp. (FX, National Geographic, Fox News), NBCUniversal (G4TV, USA, CNBC, Bravo, A&E), and Discovery Communications (Discovery Channel, TLC, Oprah Winfrey Network, Animal Planet).

The new contact lenses have been developed by a team of biomedical and chemical engineers from Alabama’s Auburn University. Normally drugs which have been administered to patients eyes are washed out within around 3o minutes after being applied. To help by-pass this wash out problem, the team has developed a disposable contact lens that can administer medication you the wearers eye, such as antibiotics, anti-inflammatories and/or anti-allergy drugs several times a day.

| Nook Tablet Limits Internal Storage To 1GB For Non Barnes & Noble Purchased Content Posted: 16 Nov 2011 07:14 AM PST The new Barnes & Noble Nook tablet comes with 16GB of built in storage, which is twice as much as the new Amazon Kindle Fire, something which Barnes & Noble has been pointing out since the Nook Tablet was announced. And whilst it may come with 16GB of built in storage, it would appear that you can only store content which hasn’t been purchased from Barnes & Noble on 1GB of that space, the rest is reserved for B&N content.

All the new countries will receive the same service that includes on-demand streaming of over 15 million tracks, to both your computer and your mobile devices. Unfortunately though for Spotify and other services such as Napster, Simfy and Rdio Dance music distribution, manufacture and management company ST Holdings has announced it will withdrawn all of the content from the subscriptions services.

The Fujifilm LX is reported to feature an APS-C sensor, and it will be launched with three different lenses, which include a pancake 18mm f/2 lens, a 35mm f/1.4 lens and the third lens will be a zoom lens.

One of these new mods thats definitely worth a mentions if UberMap. UberMap allows you to use the Skyrim worldmap as if you had Google Street view functionality, by allowing you to zoom in and explore the games terrain in detail. | HP Envy 15 And 17 Laptops Officially Unveiled Posted: 16 Nov 2011 01:55 AM PST HP has taken the wraps off its new line of Envy laptops with the unveiling of their new top of the range Envy 15 and 17 laptops. The two new models are HP’s flagship laptops and this is reflected in both the price and build quality. The Envy 15 and 17 are equipped with Radiance Infinity displays and the Envy 15 will be sporting a 1366 x 768 resolutions and the Envy 17 a 1080p screen. As far as power is concerned the Envy 15 will be equipped with Core i5-2430M processor supported by 6 gigs of DDR3 memory, with 1GB of AMD Radeon graphics. Exact specification haven’t been announced as yet for the model of graphics card installed.

According to John Stanton, who spent a fair amount of time with Steve Jobs between 2005 and 2007, Jobs wanted to replace the mobile carriers, and had the idea of creating a synthetic carrier using WiFi.

| Apple TV Price Dropped, New Model In the Works? Posted: 16 Nov 2011 12:17 AM PST A number of retailers have reduced the price of Apple’s set top box, the Apple TV, both Best Buy and Amazon has reduced the price of the Apple TV from $99.99 down to $89.99, the price remains the same on the Apple store online. This could mean that Apple is about to launch a new Apple TV, and Amazon’s listing for the existing Apple TV has the “2010″ label next to which which could mean that a 2011 model is on the way.

| Amazon Kindle Fire Teardown Reveals TI OMAP 4430 Processor Posted: 15 Nov 2011 11:59 PM PST When Amazon announced their first Android tablet, the Kindle Fire, back in September we were told it would come with a dual core processor, although we weren’t given any information on the actual processor that would be used inside their tablet. The guys over at iFixit have taken apart the new Amazon Kindle Fire, and now we know that it comes with a dual core TI OMAP 4430 processor, plus 8GB of Samsung flash storage and 512MB of DDR2 RAM.

But not on your bicycle, as such an insane setup would land you in the hospital. After trolling certain corners of the internet, a viable turbojet engine of proven quality (at least that’s what the product site claims) has come to this writer’s attention. It’s called the UN-30 and despite its size, looks dangerous. If there were a like button around here, the UN-30 would get liked. A lot.
